Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin Parts FAQ
Models and Fitment
The CRF1000L Africa Twin generation covers 2016–2019 models, with the Adventure Sports version introduced during this generation. Product fitment can still vary by year, transmission and version, so always check the exact application listed on the individual product page before ordering.
Some do. Current products such as selected shift and brake controls, engine-service parts and drivetrain protection can fit both the CRF1000L and CRF1100L Africa Twin. However, the CRF1100L introduced a larger engine and major chassis and electronics changes, so bodywork, suspension and model-specific engine parts should not be assumed to interchange.
Many chassis, brake, protection and external engine parts can fit both manual and DCT versions, but transmission and rider-control parts need more careful checking. DCT models do not use the same conventional clutch and gear-shift controls as the manual version, so always confirm whether a product specifically lists MT, DCT or both.
Many engine, drivetrain and control components are shared, but not every part is interchangeable. The Adventure Sports has differences in areas such as fuel capacity, bodywork, wind protection and suspension setup, so tank, fairing, suspension and other version-specific parts require exact fitment confirmation.
Adventure Riding, Controls and Protection
Start with parts that improve standing control or protect areas exposed to rocks and impacts. Wider footpegs, adjustable shift or brake pedal parts, drivetrain protection and brake protection are practical areas to consider before cosmetic upgrades.
The front sprocket, chain area and brake calipers are vulnerable during off-road use. A chain guard or case saver can add protection around the front sprocket, while brake caliper guards help protect exposed brake components. Correct chain adjustment and routine brake inspection are still essential.
