The 2018 Fat Boy moved to Harley-Davidson’s redesigned Softail chassis and Milwaukee-Eight engine, replacing the earlier-generation Softail and Twin Cam setup. Frame, rear suspension, engine and many controls changed, so 2017-and-earlier Fat Boy parts should not be assumed to fit 2018+ models even when the product looks similar.

Many Fat Boy components are shared with other Harley Softail models. The strongest overlap in this collection is with the Heritage Classic, while selected parts also fit Street Bob, Low Rider, Fat Bob, Softail Slim and Deluxe models. Exact model-year fitment still matters because not every Softail uses the same controls, chassis or body components.

Some external M8 components may fit more than one displacement, but compatibility should not be assumed. Many current products specifically list 107 and 114 applications, while newer Fat Boy models use the Milwaukee-Eight 117. Intake, engine and transmission parts should only be used when the exact engine and model year appear in the product fitment.

Start with rider contact points. Handlebar risers, rider floorboards and footrest parts, heel-toe shifters and brake-pedal extensions can change handlebar reach, leg position and foot control more noticeably than cosmetic upgrades alone.

They can. The answer depends on riser height, pullback, handlebar size and model year. Larger changes may require additional brake-line, clutch or electronic-throttle wiring length; this collection includes throttle extension wiring for selected Softail Fat Boy 107/114 applications. Check the complete setup before choosing a riser based only on height.

Confirm the engine displacement and model year first. Current options include air filter and intake parts, 57 mm M8 intake manifolds and external breather systems for selected Fat Boy applications. If the intake substantially increases airflow or is combined with exhaust changes, also check whether your complete setup requires tuning.

Current options include reusable magnetic oil filters, magnetic drain plugs and selected M8 engine-service hardware. These can be considered during routine oil and engine maintenance, but replacement intervals and compatibility should follow the motorcycle and product specifications rather than treating an aftermarket part as a substitute for regular service.
