Honda XR400R Parts FAQ
Models and Fitment
Current XR400R-specific products in this collection mainly cover 1996–2004 models. This includes selected foot controls, brake components, levers and rear-wheel adjustment parts. Always check the exact year range on the individual product page before ordering.
Many Honda off-road models share individual components or mounting dimensions. For example, current XR400R-compatible footpegs, brake protection and chain-adjustment parts also fit selected XR250R, XR600R or XR650 models. Use the complete fitment list rather than the product title alone to confirm compatibility.
Trail Setup and Protection
Start with parts that affect control or are exposed to trail damage. Wider footpegs and footrest parts, brake protection, hand controls and rear-wheel adjustment hardware are practical areas to inspect before cosmetic upgrades.
For rocky or uneven trails, the rear brake rotor and brake-line routing are useful areas to protect. A rear brake disc guard can help shield the rotor from impacts, while a secure brake-hose guide helps keep the line correctly positioned.
Drivetrain and Controls
Check chain slack, rear-wheel alignment, axle position and sprocket wear together. Current chain adjusters and axle blocks for the XR400R are designed to help with repeatable rear-wheel positioning during chain adjustment.
Yes, for supported model years. Current brake and clutch lever parts include pivot-style replacements for XR400R 1996–2004, which can provide lever-position adjustment and a folding design for off-road use.
