This upgraded thermostat kit for the KLR650 addresses the issue of overcooling in temperatures below 80 degrees Fahrenheit and offers several benefits for engine performance, reliability, and longevity.

- Improved Warm-Up - During warm-up, the thermostat allows coolant to bypass the radiator. This shortens the warm-up time and eliminates discomfort caused by surges of cold coolant.
- Extended Engine Life - By increasing the top operating temperature of the cylinder to 195°F and the bottom operating temperature to 185°F, the thermostat reduces oil consumption and eliminates out-of-round cylinders commonly seen with aging engines. This ensures that the engine lasts longer.
- Easy Installation - The kit includes all the necessary components for easy installation. These components include a hard-anodized aluminum exterior thermostat, thermostat housing, bypass hose and fittings, O-rings, and hardware.

- It's important to note that the 2022 KLR650 does not come equipped with a coolant temperature gauge. If you want to monitor the coolant temperature, you have the option of purchasing the Trail Tech Digital Thermometer separately. This thermometer can be installed using the 1/8-28 BSPP port provided in this kit,
- Additionally, the Australian version of this kit includes a carburetor heating port. To connect it, you simply remove the plug screw.
